WOOO HOOO TECH!!!!

Soooo....

I am EXTREMELY tired! Why you ask? Well, because Friday night, we (me, Tay, and his friend Brian) went to take some stuff up to the tailgate and hang out but after walking around and going to look at the ESPN College Game Day set up, the boys got the wonderful idea that we should camp out at school so we could get up early and get in line so that we could get into the area set up for Game Day. So - that's what we did. (But not before we could go home and gather supplies!). So, to make a long story short, at about 2:30am Saturday morning we finally situated our little sleep set-up in the truck. We then woke up at 5:30am and walked from the parking lot we were in to the engineering key where they had the stage set up. We were just hanging around in the dark with a bunch (and when I say bunch I mean about 1,000 - and this was just the ones I could see, not including the ones that were around the corner of Holden Hall) of other crazy Tech fans waiting to get in and about half an hour into our venture, Taylor starts telling me that he's hungry and that I should go get us food (YEAH RIGHT!!) then at about 6:15-ish, some Game Day people started walking around handing out HOT Chick-fil-a chicken sandwiches!!! IMAGINE THAT! Then at 7 am the line started moving! We finally got in at about 7:30am which then led to another hour and a half of standing around before Game Day actually started (but they taped a couple of Sports Center segments and Corso would talk to everybody and mess around in between, so that made the time go by a little quicker). Then the actual broadcast started at 9am and lasted until 11am. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! (Even though my legs were already tired from the 6 hours of standing up I had already done and it wasn't even noon!) So we went back to the truck, got our game faces on, and headed to the tailgate til 6pm and then headed up to the stadium and the game started at 7:00pm.

SOOOOO THENNNNN, in case you didn't know, we proceded to BEAT THE NUMBER 1 UT (who is now number 4, and we are NUMBER 2!!!). Yup! I would go into detail, but most of all of you who read this (hopefully) know what happened. But I will just say I think I had an anxiety attack there at the end!

OH! And Matthew McConaughey was there, as hot as he is, if he didn't want to be subject to the home crowd (students) booing him, he should have been holed up in a suite, that's just my opinion.

So yeah, then today we gained an hour, so that was cool I guess, and I didn't woke up relatively early at 9:30 (depeding on how you look at it) then we all (Taylor, Me, Brian and Michelle) hung around and went to eat at Ruby Tequilas at 11. Then they left and the rest of my day has been consumed by cleaning house, doing laundry and ironing, but I did manage to upload my pictures from yesterday so here ya go...

It's dark at 6:00 in the morning!

One of my favorite signs, it said "Graham's My Favorite Gracker"

The sun decided it would come out and play!

There were LOTS of signs!

View of the set from the huge screen they had set up.

Bobby Knight telling the College Game Day boys how it is :)

I'm pretty sure this is right after Bobby Knight said of his TTU pick "I hope we beat their @$$"

Corso making his pick -- Putting on the RAIDER RED head!!!

GUNS UP CORSO!

One for the road.

Ready for kickoff...

WE WIN A LOT!

Me and the hubby

(please excuse the funny face/baggy eyes, I was trying to tell the girl how to work my camera and had slept 5 hours out of the past 48)

Now it's night night time! :)

It's Monday... Again.

I've noticed a trend in my blogging. I usually blog on Mondays, probably because I'm very much NOT motivated to do actual work on Mondays, which is unfortunate because I always have something I probably should be doing, but oh well...

This weekend was nice. I got off work early on Friday and got to hang out with my hubby and get some things taken care of like get his brakes on his truck fixed and our alignments adjusted on both of our trucks and my battery replaced, which in the end cost a small fortune, but was minimal in comparison to what we would have to spend later if we didn't fix it.

I also got to buy some cold-weather work clothes (since I didn't really own any!) AND a cute black pea coat! (Ashley would be so proud of me and my pea coat :) ) And I went to Hobby Lobby to pick up some stuff for things to put in the booth and for the diaper cake I made for Amber's baby shower so of course I had to spend a little on the fall decor they had 50% off! I'm going back this week to get some fall-y candles b/c those are 50% off this week :) I love that place!!!

Abbie got fixed on Wednesday, so she was even more pathetic looking than usual. We're hoping that the lack in hormones will hinder her wandering-ness and help her to be able to put on a few more pounds (in addition to the obvious not going into heat part). AAAAAAND!! I had my grocery shopping done this week by this concierge service at the hospital. They'll run your errands like, take checks to the bank, get your groceries, pick up your dry cleaning, and all kinds of stuff! It's CRAZINESS!!! I LOVE it, it's AWESOME!!!

So yeah, I spent a lot of money but it was mostly on stuff we needed (minus the fall decorations, but you can't win 'em all) so I feel good about it. But it was overall a great weekend. My Red Raiders whooped up on Kansas, so College Game Day will be here on Satuday, which I'm SUPER excited about!! My Cowboys squeeked past the Bucs yesteday WITHOUT Tony Romo and Amber's baby shower went really well on Saturday (and the diaper cake was a hit too!).

I'm hoping my productivity and good fortune will overflow into next weekend. I have lots of stuff to make to put in the booth before Friday, I've got like, 5 dozen cookies to make for a baby shower my sister's helping with AND I'm hoping I get all my work done by Thursday so that I can have friday off to prepare for GAME DAY!!! GOOOOOOOO TECH!!!! :)

Helloooooo Out There!!!

I super can't concentrate today.
I have a new obsession.
I finally got the tracker on my googlepage for Tina to work and I have spent 75% of my day today just watching it. It's bad. Seriously, it's like an addiction because there are people all over the country (and from like, 4 other countries right now) that are going to the site the I created about HER! And you can watch it in real time. It's surreal. Definitely surreal.

This is not to say I don't have anything to do. Which is the bad part. My productivity today = 0 but oh well... And I know when I get home I won't be motivated too much either between being on the computer and watching DWTS, but I have plenty to do. BAH!

Tay and I went to Midland Saturday and Sunday for our niece's 1st birthday. It's the last of the 1st birthdays until we have kids, which is kind of weird but I'm kind of okay with that. It was kind of a bummer yesterday though because out of all the people (probably at least 25 adults) we were the only couple without kids or wasn't pregnant. Not that we are trying to get that way or anything, but as usual, we just kinda felt like we were out of place. And I should say that all of those people were older than us anyway, but oh well...  Anyway! So since I was kid-less, I was on camera duty, so I'll post pics whenever I get them from Mindy (I took them with her super cool camera).

Anyway! That's about it. Between feeding my latest internet addiction, my sick husband, DWTS and my house-keeping duties, I ought to stay pretty busy tonight. So I'd better pretend like I got some work done before I leave in 15 minutes! ADIOS AMIGOS!

OMG! Craaaaaazzzyyy PEOPLE!!!

Duggar family reveal sex of No. 18: It’ll be a girl

And Taylor thinks me wanting 4 is a lot! But hey, if you've got the money, the love and the time, I say go for it!

Pardon the Expression...

But today is a Monday --- ALL DAY LONG!!! My weekend was DEFINITELY too short and I was not ready to start the week, but what choice do we have, right? Oh well!

For those of you who follow the "saga" (for lack of a better word) of my cousin Tina, you might get a kick out of this... So, it's been a few months (almost 5 to be exact) since the Australian coroner charged Gabe Watson with Tina's murder, which he still has not been extradited for, nor do we know when that may happen, but after all the hubbub surrounding the ruling things quite obviously settled down media-wise since then. What hardly anyone knows (unless they freakishly stalk him like my cousin, aunt and I do) is that Gabe got re-married in August (a girl named Kim Lewis if you're keeping track).

Let's just say that we have our ways and homegirl really shouldn't post pics of her and her new wife-killer husband on facebook if she doesn't want the world to know... I'm just sayin... And even though it INFURIATES me every time I think that someone could be so naieve AGAIN (which at this time around easily translates into STUPIDITY!) to marry that "Scum bag" (as Geraldo Rivera put it), it's beside the point. The point is that yesterday, I got a "Google Alert" about Tina, and it was kinda random that 5 months later, here it is, but nonetheless it kinda cracked me up. It was an article published in the Sunday Times (a London based paper) yesterday and although I have heard/seen/etc. most of it many times before, there were a couple of things that made me chuckle, for instance:

"Gabe is a man mountain, about 6ft 4in and weighing over 17 stone."

The whole article is very descriptive, and decidedly anti-Gabe (which I obviously have no problem with) and if you want to read the article in it's entirety you can go to Tina Watson: the bride who drowned at the Barrier Reef. It's kind of lengthy, but has a lot of info that really not many people know about that wasn't covered in the media like that 2 days before her funeral, with my WHOLE family at my Aunt & Uncle's house Gabe’s father came to their house demanded possession of Tina’s Jeep, wedding presents and the rest of her belongings, including the mattress that Tina had in her room -- one of the only things that hadn't been moved into the house before the wedding. Or when the funeral director and the manager called Tom aside before the services and told him that they’d been instructed by the Watson family that if he said anything or did anything – or anybody in my family said or did anything – that would in any way be against Gabe, they were to be removed from the funeral.

It makes me sad really, and even though it hurts every time I read something or see his ugly mug on the internet, it reminds me that it's not over yet, and that someday (hopefully sooner rather than later) he will get what he deserves. October 22nd will mark 5 years to the day of her death. I just hope that the authorities show up that day (or the 11th, the day they were married)at his door and take his "man mountain" self Down Under! Please keep my family in your prayers as October arrives and those dates come and go, please pray for strength and patience for my Aunt Cindy, Uncle Tom, cousin Alanda and her precious little family and although we will never understand why he did it, that hopefully soon they will find comfort in the fact that even though it will never bring Tina back, he will pay for what he did.

I just couldn't resist....

I gave in and went to Pier 1 yesterday! I was seriously OBSESSING over my ideas for decorating for fall (apparently I'm going through decorating withdrawals), that and I'm ADD and since I have put the sewing machine up for the time being since I was so productive last week, I needed something to do! So, it may not SEEM like much, but I took before and after pics, just for my own reasons I guess...

Before:

After!!!

Here's a close-up of the arrangement (ALSO my FAVORITE THING OF THE DAY!!!) I made and the purdy fall candle!!!

I looked at the pillows, and they're kinda pricey, so I figured I'd wait 'til I could use my mother in-law's interior decorator discount the next time I go home! YAAAY!

Unfortunately, the store here didn't have the little acorn or the ribbon pillow, so my mom's going to look at the store in Midland for me this weekend! Oh! The things on the floor (or hearth I guess if you wanna be technical) are pumpkin luminaries that my sis-in law gave me! They're cute and have tasty-delicious pumpkin-spice candles in them! I love pumpkin and/or spice smelling stuff! Just another reason why I LOVE FALL!!!!
Another reason I love fall: NEW SEASONS OF TV SHOWS!!! Namely my personal fav, Grey's Anatomy!!!

HOWEVER! I was THOROUGHLY disappointed in yesterday's "BIG" 2-hr long season premiere! Nothing really interesting happened other than Christina was impaled by her karma, er... I mean an UN-Godly sized icesicle! REALLY??? Let's hope they do better in the next episode, which BY THE WAY won't be for another 2 weeks! DUUUMB!!!

Yaaay for FALL!!!

Today is OFFICIALLY the first FULL day of fall!!! Yaaay! I love fall! Even though West Texas has fall weather for all of about 3 weeks, then it's full-steam ahead to winter-time cold! But I will enjoy it anyway!

Fall also means that my favorite sport (to watch) is in full swing!!! FOOTBALL!!! My Cowboys are now 3-0 in regular season play, and my Red Raiders are 4-0. This week is a bye week for Tech, and then won't have another home game 'til October 11th when they open up Big 12 play against K-State! The 'Boys play the Redskins on Sunday afternoon so I'll get to just hang out at the casa this weekend and watch all my football on TV with the hubby which should be nice and relaxing!

So yeah, I'm pretty sure Fall is my most FAVORITE season. Not to be confused of course with my most favorite TIME of year, which is of course, CHRISTMAS! The only problem is that I want to decorate my house fall-y now that it is all nice looking, but I never now how to decorate for Fall (and other than the beautimous wreath my sister and mom made for me, I have like, 2 pices of fall "decor"). And when I say FALL, I'm not including Halloween b/c I don't really do anything for Halloween other than Tay and I carve pumpkins every year, but no one comes to trick-0r-treat, so I figure there's no reason to decorate for it... ANYWAY! I have come up with a solution to my fall-decorating dilemma! Ready? PILLOWS and CANDLES. Yes! You read correctly! I found the absolute CUTEST fall-looking pillows at Pier One and I figured I could replace the summer/springy ones that I have in my "nice living room" right now with fall ones, the same with the candle situation. And since my couch and chair-and-a-half are a uber-neutral Cream, it should work out perfectly!!! And then I can do the same with Christmas!! WOOOHOOO!!! :)

So, in an effort to start blogging more, I am starting my favorite thing(s) of the day. I'm going to TRY to post a favorite thing everyday in order to at least make an appearance on here and give you handful of people who read this thing something to entertain yourselves with! So, here ya go, the Innaugural TODAY'S FAVORITE THINGS: Fall Decor!!!

I'm stuck at home...

YAAAAY FUUN! Um... Not really!

Here's the low down:

I started to get sick last wednesday, and was SUPER sick (with sinus crap) and called in to work Thursday... And then again on Friday... To make a long story short, instead of going to the doctor thursday or friday, I tried to stick it out over the weekend, and actually started to feel much better... But then last night started to feel REEEALLLY SUPER crappy so I FINALLY went to the doctor today. Turns out I have a sinus infection that decided to morph into an eye infection!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? So My Dihenia told me that I shouldn't go to work til Thursday. So... Today is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday... I will have had taken a whole week off from work! But! The good thing is that it is paid and that it comes out of my ETO bank, which means that it's only time I would use if I were sick for more than two days, not my regular personal time off bank...

ANYWHO! But I guess there's lots to do for me around here even though my super AWESOME hubby cleaned the house and did all the laundry this weekend (and cooked pretty much every meal) I have lots of burp cloths to make (and blogging to catch up on). :) And tonight, Cowboys football to watch (you didn't know Tony Romo is my secret luvah did you) Hehehe...

HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!

Prayer Request, 1 yr anniversary pics, and Remembering...

They are definitely not related, but I've been meaning to post the anniversary pics AND my aunt just e-mailed me as she does periodically to let me know what is going on with the ongoing struggle for justice for Tina. The process is yet again taking a toll on my Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin - Cindy, Tom, and Alanda. Gabe's extradition is taking extremely long, but on top of that, their attorney in Alabama (that they had taking care of local issues such as getting their rights back to move Tina where they want, filing a civil suit against Gabe, etc.) passed away yesterday from a massive heart attack. Needless to say they are shocked and not sure what they are going to do at this time. It is yet another road block for them. Please keep them in your prayers...

Annnnd on a happier note, here are the pics! I can't believe it's already been a year!!!

Kudos to my hubby for being able to set up the timer on my camera!!! :)

As I sit here, home sick from work, on this very rainy day, I'm watching TV and see many images that I vividly recall seeing exactly 7 years ago. As for me, early that morning, I was carpooling with some girls from around my neighborhood and on the last pick up, one of them said something about a plane ran into a building in New York. I dismissed it as some puddle jumper that had accidently crashed into a building. But then we got to school, and I remember my 1st period English class teacher, Mrs. Dulin turning on the TV and for the rest of the class period, we all sat in silence, with the lights dimmed, glued to the TV. I remember when the 1st tower fell, many of us gasped, some managed to get out an "Oh my God..." and others just in shock, and then the 2nd tower went, it was something I'm sure no one will soon forget. Even when the bell rang to go to the next class, we all sat there, watching. I hope that those images remain with us forever and when we get frustrated going through airport security or get mad because another one of your friends or family has been called for deployment, we remember why...
