School's out forEVER!

It's a good feeling knowing that I have no more papers to write, no more tests to study for, no more classes to go to. Life is good. Now if I could only get a job... But no worries, this time next week, I will be on the beach in Mexico!

March for Babies

Here is the one and only picture I got from our March of Dimes walk last weekend, I would have gotten more but the boys took off without us! Boo! And Lori (our black lab) went with us. She had a blast, she got to play fetch in the pond (her favorite!) and be around a bunch of people. She had so much fun in fact that she passed out in the truck and slept the rest of the day! Haha!

Lori in the truck after her big day at the park

I have my last final tomorrow and hopefully should hear back from B. Dihenia this week. (The position with him turned out to be a Marketing/Community Education position which I am THRILLED about considering it's what I got my degree for!) so keep your fingers crossed! And graduation is less than a week away! Wahoo! :) Can't wait! Then we leave for Mexico a week from tomorrow!

Well, I'd post more and what not but I have my final final to study for! :)

Just another day...

Today was a good day! I had a spanish test which surprisingly, I think I did well on, came home, did a little spanish homework and did pretty much nothing until Taylor started grilling in the backyard. I take that back, I was actually doing something for a few of those hours! Taylor convinced me that we needed a new computer, so we went and got a new HP desktop on Sunday and I really like it! It's got Windows Vista and a DVD burner and little places to put different memory sticks from cameras and what not and it has all sorts of memory so I'm pretty pumped about it. First a new dryer, then a new camera, now a new computer! Lots of things are new and exciting lately!!! I wonder what's next! The new-ness keeps increasing substantially! :D (Which I shouldn't get too excited, because we do pay for it all...)

Anyway! Brian and Michelle's wedding was BEAUTIFUL! We had fun in the short time we were there! I have the rest of this week and next week left of my internship but will have to work on my portfolio to turn in the following week, then I'm done with that, so that's exciting, and I think that if I go one more day without hearing about ANY of the 8 bajillion jobs that I have applied for, I think I may scream!

So that's pretty much it, so I think I'm going to head to bed, but for now I leave you with a pic of me and my SUPER STUDLY husband from the wedding!

Dum da dum...

So... I should be being productive once again, but apparently I have a problem with that, so I'm just sitting here on the computer. I did however do laundry and make margaritas tonight! Haha... Real productive...

We're almost done with the house! All we have left before we can tackle the floors are our bedroom and bathroom and the laundry room! I can't wait to have it all done! This weekend, Taylor is taking one of his friends camping along with a bunch of other guys for his friend's bachelor party and I am heading to Midland for his fiance's bacherlorette party and to hang out with the family.

Easter was good. We went home to Midland Saturday night and came back Sunday afternoon. Another one of those quick trips but oh well, what can you do when you're the only ones who don't live in Midland? The kids were ADORABLE! But then again, they always are. I took some pics with my new camera!!! Woohoo for that lovely little thing!

The job search still hasnt produced anything concrete yet, but it's only March and I have applied/submitted my resume for 8 jobs, so we shall see, surely out of 8 prospects you would think I could land one of them!

Anyway, I'd better hit the sack.

Nighty night!

OMG OMG OMG!!!!

I am soooo FREAKING excited!!!! We booked our trip to MEXICOOOOO!!!! I seriously cannot even convey how excited I am!!!! We are staying at the Hotel Marina El Cid. It is Puerto Morales (not far from Cancun) and is All Inclusive! We went with the "Platinum Club" Package which includes:

  • Guaranteed Ocean Front or Ocean View accommodations
  • Top-of-the-line extra comfort beds and linens
  • Dedicated check-in and checkout areas
  • Reservation of palapa huts on the beach
  • Butler service
  • Welcome fruit & wine basket.
  • Guaranteed reservations in the specialties restaurants.
  • Late checkout (3:00 PM), subject to availability.
  • Special turn down service with hors d’oeuvres and petit fours.
  • Room aromatherapy menu.
  • Complementary access to the Platinum Club (beverages, snacks, fruit, Internet access, TV, newspaper and books.)
  • In room amenities include:
    Bathrobes and slippers
    Umbrella
    Beach bag
    Scale

Yeah! So freaking excited!

So... In other news (which is not quite as exciting if you ask me) we started working on the storage room and the extra bathroom. We're not doing anything impressive with the storage room, just texturing it and painting it white and hopefully getting rid of some stuff that we'll never use that has taken up habitation in that room. The extra bathroom is going to be a really light yellowy-tan-ish color. It's not ::really:: yellow, just REALLY light tan. Oh! And we're going the laundry room, which I mixed some of the colors that we already had and made a really pretty light blue-y color. I love it! Very clean, which I would think would be ideal for a laundry room.

Right now Taylor and some of his buddies from work are playing poker and I'm chillin in the office workin on the trip and fartin' around... We still have to get our Passports, but we're going to get our pictures done tomorrow and then we have to get our Birth Certificates from the parents this weekend, then I'm thinking we will go monday or tuesday to submit it all.

Oh! And the waaay cool camera that I already thought was totally awesome has gotten even cooler! I took it to work with me for my big and exciting ::hint of sarcasm:: 12 hour day on Sunday and played with it with Sara and all the other peeps, turns out it does all sorts of fun color switching and altering stuff! I am IN LOVE!

Anyway! I'm tired, so I think I'm going to go to sleep! But I'm so excited!!!! EEEEeeeekkkk! :D

So Busy...

As I sit down to vent, ER, I mean type on this thing, I've come to realize that I keep myself so busy so that I don't have time to sit down and think about how much stuff I really need to do! I was going to talk about how my "Real Job" hunt has officially begun and how I hope I get one of the two jobs that I am trying for right now and that they will fit my needs salary and description wise... I have my hand in so many jars right now I think I could explode! At any given moment I am:
  • Attending/doing homework/studying for any of my 16 hours worth of classes
  • Working on my 300-hours worth of internship including my research project or up at the hospital rounding
  • Working at the hospital
  • Making the rounds at the hospital for the March of Dimes fundraiser I became involved in
  • Trying to raise money for our March of Dimes walk
  • Working on the house
  • Cleaning the house (and although this should just fly out the window at this point b/c we ARE working on the house and we're not expecting any "house guests" or family visits any time soon, it still bothers the HOUND outta me!)
  • Oh yeah! And lets not forget, TRYING TO FIND A REAL JOB!

Let me just say that I cannot be more ready to be done with school. The fact that I am {this close} to being done with school forever (if I choose not to go back, which I am not even entertaining that thought at the moment) is CRAZY EXCITING! There are probably not many people in this world that would say that they would rather just hurry up and get out of college and get into the real world, but that is me! I have put in my time and am ready to move up and out!

Anyway! That's about it for tonight, and probably for the next couple of weeks actually. After tonight, I don't have another night off 'til next Tuesday, and I will probably be passed out hoping to gain enough energy to sustain me for my 56-hour work week I have in store for me next week while everyone else is in Vegas or out at the beach or skiing someplace during Spring Break. But! It is for a good cause! Because the more OT I get, the closer I am to going to Mexico!!!!!

TTFN!

Spring Forward?

Okay, so I'm not so sure I'm going to like this whole "Spring forward" business. It has happened every year of my life, but I am now finding myself a little confused by the whole process... So from what I understand, I have to be at work at 7 am, but it will feel like it's 6 am??? Something's not right with this picture! Well, if I get more sunlight, I guess it may be worth it, but I'm pretty much thinking it will be dark when I get up in the morning still... I may be crazy, but I think we are getting jipped by this whole process!

Anyway! My parents were in town yesterday and today for Clayton's baseball tournament. I have decided it's a good thing that I don't play anything anymore, I think I'm too old and I don't yell nearly as loud as I used to... Umpires are still just as stupid though...

But anywhoo!!! I did finally get my new camera in my hot little hand yesterday and I LOVE it!!! It's pretty much the coolest camera ever made that will fit in the palm of your hand! I will post random pictures later when I get all the software uploaded and what not.

Oh! My mother in-law and sister in-law came in town today with her 2 kids. It was a fun time, the kids were good and we got a little shopping in which is always fun. Taylor had to leave the shopping early (much to his dismay, I'm sure!) to go to work and he closes tonight, which means he won't be home until almost 2, which by then that means it will be 3 (ugh! I've had enough of this spring forward crap already and it hasn't even happened yet!)

Okay, well since it is ::technically:: 11pm, which means that it is really midnight, I should go to sleep! Especially since I have a sneaking suspicion that this whole time change thing is going to make my 12 hour day at work seem A LOT longer than 12 hours! Not that it doesn't seem that way as it is! HAH!

So... NIGHT NIGHT!!!!

Okay, so I changed my mind... I didn't think it would be possible for me to sleep until I shared the amazingness of my camera to the world!!!! (Yeeeeahhh... or something!)

YAAAAAYYYY!!!!

Soooooo....

I'm getting my camera!!!!

I finally convinced Taylor that it would make the world a better place if I got to get my camera!!!! But! They don't have it in stock at the store here, so I had to order it through the store in Midland, but Mom is going to pick it up for me tonight and Dad is going to bring it to me on Thursday when he comes up for Bubba's tournament!

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! :D
I'M SO EXCITED!!!!

I'm pretty sure my house is going to blow away!

First of all it is RIDICULOUSLY windy outside! It was so nice when I left work at 5:45 tonight, 71 and not windy at all. Now it is 38 degrees with a windchill of 28, and the wind is blowing up to 45 mph! OH! And did I mention that it is supposed to be snowing/raining by 2am??? Really?!?!Are you kidding me?!!?!

Anyway! I haven't really paid attention to this blog thing since I first set it up, mainly because I signed up out of boredom while I was at work, and I knew for a fact that no one would read it because I was the only person who knew it existed! But now that I know 1 person (Yay Sara!) might perhaps read it, I thought I may actually give blogging some effort.

So, I really haven't had time to make my little list that I mentioned in my first blog. It was kinda a "on a whim" thing I guess, I'd still very much like to do it, but I have 8 million different things on my plate right now.

Speaking of needing to do 8 million things, I should be writing a paper about memory for my psych class that I fanaggled Jason into calling his grandma for, but I can't motivate myself to write it. And to be completely honest, I can't really motivate myself to do a whole heck of a lot lately. Not even the motivation of graduating in 10 weeks can influence my decision to direct my effort towards productive, school-related things! Which is very NOT good considering my psych paper is due tomorrow, I have a March of Dimes walk team captain meeting at lunch, and I work; the first half of my spanish mid-term is tuesday, I have to do a speech that I still need to interview someone for on wednesday, and then I have the second half of my spanish mid-term on Thursday (the composition part, and I am WAAAY not good at that kinda thing!) and I have to do my weekly rounding with Palliative Care. Then my Dad will be here Thursday for Bubba's baseball tournament, and Mom will be here Friday and Saturday. Not to mention, I need to work on my internship stuff (that I am WAAAY behind on). Oh! And I have "THE CRUD". The "Crud" is the sinus/cold-ish crap that seems to be going around the whole city of Lubbock, especially up at the hospital, so we have ever-so-technically diagnosed it as "the crud". And! We're still trying to work on the house! (I'm convinced we will never be finished!)

So Anyway! There is GOOD news (hard to believe, I know!).

  • Taylor and I went and got an electric radio fence for the backyard so that the dogs might actually stop getting out of the backyard. Taylor even got it all set up today while I was at work, we'll see how it goes....

  • While buying the radio-fence thing, we found a dryer at Home Depot for $195!!!! So we got it (the thing i absolutely HUMONGOUS inside and it totally beats our circa 1982 version that was burning up stuff!

  • With it now being March, that means that Spring Break is this month, which means I am almost halfway to graduation. We're going to Wyoming again for Spring Break this year and I cannot wait!!

  • Taylor and I decided this week that we are going to take a big trip to Mexico this summer right after graduation. We both deserve it and can't wait! Now if only we had enough money to book it. We're going to stay at the Gran Porto Real in Playa del Carmen. Colter and Mindy stayed there and loved it. We had originally wanted to go to Jamaica, but we really can't afford that right now, maybe next year...

  • Oh! And I've had my eye on a Canon Elph digital camera ever since my trusty little circa 2004 Nikon was tragically sticky-ed to death by my sweet little Wyatt this summer. I was looking at them again last week at Best Buy and it was $249.99. A little out of my price range at the moment due to the fact that I'm trying to get out of debt and get passports AND actually BOOK our trip to Mexico. However, I was looking through the ads in the newspaper today and LO AND BEHOLD my camera is now $199.99!!! Still a little much, but for that camera, it would be SO worth it!

So, that's pretty much it. Actually, I'm sure there's probably more, but I'm too tired to get into it, and that is bad considering I still have to write that stupid paper! BAH!!! Here goes nothin'...
