30 weeks - Tucker's newest pics!

We caught him yawning :)

So far, so good! I am officially at 30 weeks today, but of course, little man is showing to be slightly ahead of the curve in size (what can I say, he's built like his dad!). :) After they did all of his measurements yesterday, they said that his estimated weight is 3lbs. 12oz. so he's measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule. We go back to our regular doctor next wednesday and on Sept. 17th we go to for another 4D ultrasound.
ANDDDD!!! We are SUPPOSED to close on our new house SOMETIME next week, so hopefully we will be moving everything next weekend! We will see though! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Free gift with membership.

So, Taylor and I joined a new church on Sunday. We've been going there for a while, but finally became members this Sunday. In an e-mail to me last week, the pastor said we would come and stand at the front of the church and they would recognize us and give us a gift.

As it turns out, we are now the proud new owners of (drumroll please).......

Yes, a toaster. Kind of made us laugh.

"Thanks for joining our church, here's a toaster."

You would think that if they were going to give you a thanks-for-joining-our-church gift (because no one really expects to get a gift for joining a church, or at least I didn't) that it would be something "churchy" like a bible, or a book, or even an inspirational calendar or something. But that's what I like about this church.

And yes, this is the same church where when the pastor was saying his opening prayer one Sunday morning and someones cell phone rang he said "And Lord, thank you for the many forms of communiction you have given us..."

Love it.

Third Trimester!!!

So we are officially in the 3rd trimester! Actually, to be specific, we entered the 3rd trimester last Thursday, the 13th which just happened to be Taylor's 25th birthday! We didn't do much to celebrate, just went to Outback and had some Cold Stone afterwards. Unfortunately, I was too tired/busy to make him his usual birthday cake.

Last wednesday, I had my 28 week appointment and gestational diabetes/anemia test and we heard Tucker's heartbeat which is always fun, still in the 150's. If nothing else he's a consistent little guy! My tests were fine, turns out my hemoglobin levels were a little low, but nothing an iron pill a day won't fix!

A week from today we go for our 3-D ultrasound! I'm really excited for that! I can't wait to see his little face!

And in the house-hunting department, turns out we had to cancel our contract we were in on the blue 2-story house. It's okay though, because we found another one that we are now under contract on (this time, I'm not posting pictures until after we actually close!) and we will hopefully close by next friday the 28th (happy birthday to me!)! And in case you were wondering, I will be accepting moving help in lieu of birthday presents ;-)

HILARIOUS!

Why I didn't do this at our wedding...
Oh wait, no one in my wedding had any sort of rythm :-)
Okay, so I wouldn't have done it, I'm not that brave! But kudos to these people! Cracks me up!

Tucker's new & improved nursery furniture!

A couple of weekends ago I decided to paint some of Tucker's furniture. None of it's new, but it's definitely improved!

The dresser/changing table before:

Dresser/Changing table after:
I bought the dresser a couple of years ago at an antique store for $35. It had some cheapy knobs and the bottom was coming out of one of the drawers, but now it's as good as new!
Here is the made-over night stand, it used to be my brother's, I don't have any "before" pictures, but it was white with a red plastic knob.

I'm officially 6 months!

Which means only 4 more months until Tucker is here!
We are so excited but time is flying by! It seems like we found out just the other day! He will be here before we know it. I realize this now more so than before because now I am constantly reminded that there's a little guy in in there kicking around and hiccuping and also because of this:

Yes, it is undeniable, I am DEFINATELY showing! There for a while I was in the "Is she fat or is she pregnant" gray area, but now, it's pretty obvious!

And just for comparison reasons, this was me @ 4-ish weeks:

And for those of you that are fans of the "belly" shots, that will probably be the last one. I may take one right before he's born. I'm not a big fan of actually taking them, but there have been requests, so there ya go! :)

Our next appointment is next Wednesday where we will listen to his heartbeat and some other stuff that is not nearly as exciting as actually getting to see him on the ultrasound. We get our next ultrasound at 30 weeks, which will be the 4-D one. We are really excited about that one!

Tucker's first baseball game and all his new stuff!

Here are some pictures from our trip to Dallas this weekend. We went to a Ranger's game on Friday night an then had a day full of shopping on Saturday. The shopping day was VERY successful! We got fabric for Tucker's crib bedding and got him some MORE clothes. Not that he needs any! He's a lucky little boy! Between his two boy cousins hand-me-downs, the kid doesn't really NEED any more clothes, but of course there are too many cute things to pass up when you see them out shopping! ;-)

This is the fabric we ended up getting for his room. Taylor picked out the colors (Wyoming Brown & Gold). The checkered and polka dot patterened fabric along with the solid white are going to be the panels on the crib bumper (the white panel will have Tucker's brand that Taylor is designing). The large striped pattern is for the crib skirt, the skinny stripes are for the ties on the bumper and the white paisley fabric is a really soft fabric called minky for the sheets.
Here are the clothes that Tucker got out of the trip:
3 pairs of pants
2 sets of footie pajamas
1 teddy bear outfit (complete w/ fuzzy hat)
1 camo onesie
2 pairs of mesh shorts
1 pair of camo swim shorts
A close up of the ADORABLE teddy bear outfit his daddy picked out for him
This is the current status of Tucker's closet :)
This tote is pretty big and already filling up with toys, blankets, bibs and pacifiers! (Courtesy of Tucker's grandmas!)
This is a drawer in his changing table/dresser. Full of clothes from his cousin Cutter! (Thanks for loading them up and bringing them up here Aunt Mindy!)

It's a...

Boy!
Tucker Thompson Lange is measuring right on time -- November 5th, 2009! AND! MOST IMPORTANTLY he is looking healthy! Will post pics and hopefully the video later when Tucker's daddy gets done with them! Let's just say that when it came time for the gender determination, our little man (in TRUE Lange form) was NOT AT ALL shy about letting us see his business! :-)

Oh! Grandma & Grandpa Taylor, we changed the settings to let anyone leave comments! We didn't know that we had it set up where you couldn't! Love and miss you guys! Maybe the little guy will be born on Grandpa's birthday!

Profile Shot

Yup, it's a BOY!
Sucking his thumb

My kid has nice bone structure :)

Gabe plead guilty....... to Manslaughter

I'm not sure if I could be much more disappointed in the final outcome. I even contemplated not posting anything about it and pretending it never happened, but what good is that?

Here is what ended up happening (the condensed version):
Today/tonight our time Gabe was to enter a plea and a trial date was to be set. But apparently a deal had been made for a while that Gabe would instead plead Guilty to Manslaughter and take a lesser sentence basically for failing to do his duty as Tina's dive buddy. He plead not guilty to murder and the PROSECTOR (the lawyer who is SUPPOSED to fight for justice for Tina) only proposed a sentence of 5 YEARS W/ PAROLE ELIGIBILITY AFTER 18 MONTHS. Gabe's lawyer then says that that is TOO HARSH and that he has cooperated and surrendered himself and blah blah blah and that he should only get 4 years w/ parole eligibility after 16 months. And THE JUDGE finally ruled that he serve 4 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS TO BE SUSPENDED AFTER 12 MONTHS (basically he's eligible for parole after 12 months) and his time already served in jail (about 23 days) be deducted from the sentence.

Obviously we are all EXTREMELY disappointed in the outcome. I don't know about you but I'm pretty sure that one year in jail is not a fair sentence for killing someone. The PROSECTOR said after the sentencing that "Watson had breached his duty as a husband."
OH REALLY?!!? YA THINK?!

SO make a note to yourselves, if you ever want to kill someone, do it in Australia, because they're a bunch of pansies that really punish people.

In all seriousness though, the only thing that brings me any comfort after all of this is the realization that really, no prison sentence would ever be long enough for this guy and that he WILL EVENTUALLY get his true punishment after this life is over (and maybe a little preview of that in the all-male showers he will have to take with the other prisoners, surely some big aboriginal guy has a hankerin' for a puffy American bubble-wrap salesman... but i digress...)

Please say prayers for Tom, Cindy, and Alanda for strength and comfort. I know to them, it probably seems like they have fought such a long and hard battle to get Tina the justice she deserves only to be slapped in the face, but I know
God
has
a
plan.
